Jonathon Niese's struggles continue

by James McGowan | Fri, Jun 12th 12:08am EDT

On Thursday, the New York Mets beat the San Francisco Giants 5-4. In the game Jon Niese went seven innings, giving up two runs on five hits, while striking out four, and walking two.

Fantasy Impact:

Jon Niese got another no decision on Thursday, he now has not won since May ninth. Thursday was just another chapter in the awful season that Jonathon Niese is having. This season Niese has a 4.24 ERA in 63 innings of work, with 45 strike outs, Niese is also 3-6 with two no decisions. Niese has had a rough season, he has pitched pretty well in a few of his starts but then gets hung out to dry by the offense. But when Niese is bad, he is bad he can't seem to go deep into games consistently and struggles to keep is ERA down. If you do own Jon Niese I think it is time to drop him, he has had a rough season and there is no signs of him turning it around anytime soon. If Niese can some how find a way to turn it around, the he might be a good depth pitcher as we go down he stretch. But as of right now i would drop him asap, or at least bench him until we see if he can turn it around.
