Hyun Jin Ryu undergoes Tommy John surgery

Hyun Jin Ryu had successful Tommy John surgery and will miss the next 12-18 months of play. (Keegan Matheson on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The surgery was apparently a “revision UCL reconstruction with a flexor tendon repair” which essentially translates to a full Tommy John surgery. He will miss the rest of this season and is at risk of missing a significant portion of next season too. He may have played his last games with Toronto as 2023 is the last year on his 4-year, $80 million contract.
