Ross Stripling pitches well in win on Wednesday

by Devon Bruce | Blue Jays Correspondent | Wed, Jun 22nd 7:59pm EDT

Ross Stripling pitched six innings, allowing one earned run on five hits and a walk while striking out five during Toronto's win over Chicago on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Stripling continues to impress and has been a great fill-in pitcher for Blue Jay's since losing Hyun Jin Ryu. He has only allowed three runs over his last five appearances and has been excellent at keeping the ball in the park, only allowing three home runs all season. The Blue Jays may be shopping around for a starting pitcher as the deadline approaches but Stripling has more than proved his worth so far and may stick in the rotation. On the season he is 4-2 with a 3.08 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 43 strikeouts across 52 2/3 innings. He'll next take the mound in a showdown with the Red Sox on Tuesday.
