Zack Greinke will return from the 15-day IL on Friday to take the mound against the visiting Oakland Athletics as reported by MLB.com's Sarah Wexler. (Sarah Wexler on Twitter)
Greinke made two rehab starts for Triple-A Omaha, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in 12 innings so he got the go ahead to return to the Royals. Greinke is still searching for his first win of the season and will look to bring back down his 5.05 ERA that sat at 2.67 as recently at May 8 before the flexor strain started to take effect and the wheels fell off during his final four starts prior to the IL stint. In those four starts, Greinke allowed 19 earned runs in just 18 innings. Fantasy managers should activate him prior to Friday's start as it appears the injury issues were the cause of the slide.
