by Andersen Pickard | Yankees Correspondent | Thu, Jun 23rd 8:35am EDT

Red Sox infield prospect Jeter Downs made his debut against the Tigers on Wednesday, batting ninth and playing third base. He ultimately went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. Boston defeated Detroit by a score of 6-2, completing a three-game sweep.

Fantasy Impact:

Downs, 23, nearly had a homer late in the game as he tried to wrap one around Pesky's Pole in right field, but it hooked foul too early. Acquired from the Dodgers in the Mookie Betts trade, Downs struggled over 152 games in Triple-A, hitting below the Mendoza line with 25 homers, 60 RBI, 63 walks, 200 strikeouts, and 29 stolen bases.
