Sandy Alcantara falls to Mets on Friday night

by Nate Miller | Marlins Correspondent | Fri, Jun 24th 10:56pm EDT

Sandy Alcantara worked seven innings in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Mets, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out four.

Fantasy Impact:

After a streak of eight starts with at least seven innings and two earned runs or less allowed, Alcantara labored a bit versus the division-leading Mets on Friday. The Marlins ace gave up a couple of long balls. Those were the first homers he had surrendered since all the way back on May 11. Needless to say, Alcantara has been on an amazing run of pitching, so just chalk this one up to a tough night against a stout lineup. He will look to rebound Wednesday in St. Louis.
