Gregory Soto threw a scoreless ninth inning in a 5-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday. Soto did not allow and baserunner and struck out two.
Fantasy Impact:
Soto was out there in a non-save situation to get some work as he hadn't pitched since June 19. The 27-year-old now has a 2-4 record, 2.77 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 13 saves, and 26 strikeouts in 26 innings of work. He has been a solid closer for fantasy, although his 16th percentile walk rate leaves him susceptible to the occasional blowup outing.
