Scott Barlow strikes out two, picks up 9th save Friday

by Luke Monaldo | Guardians Correspondent | Sat, Jun 25th 8:27am EDT

Scott Barlow pitched one inning, allowing no runs on one hit and no walks while striking out two and earning the save in Kansas City’s 3-1 win against Oakland on Friday.

Fantasy Impact:

Barlow pitched around a leadoff double and dispatched the Athletics with relative ease afterwards to close out the 9th. Barlow converted his 9th save in 10 chances this season and carries a 2.25 ERA across 28 appearances this season. Barlow had been nearly perfect this season is save situations, unfortunately for his fantasy managers he has only had 10 of those but five have come in June. Barlow has clearly separated himself from Josh Staumont and is the Royals’ primary closer and only consistent source of saves from that bullpen.
