Mitch Garver (forearm) considering season-ending surgery

by Dan Harris | Mariners Correspondent | Sun, Jun 26th 12:44pm EDT

Mitch Garver is contemplating having season-ending surgery on the damaged flexor tendon in his right forearm. (Dallas Morning News)

Fantasy Impact:

Garver has been limited to just DH duties with his flexor tendon injury, and he hasn't found much success as a hitter this year. Surgery isn't definitively the route Garver will take to fix the injury, but rehab is far more uncertain. Because recovery time from the surgery is roughly 7-8 months, Garver would need to undergo a procedure by mid-July to be ready for next season. At this point, surgery seems like the most likely choice so managers still rostering Garver should prepare to find other options soon.
