Jose Trevino went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in New York’s 9-4 comeback victory against Oakland on Monday.
Trevino entered the season as a backup catcher after arriving in New York via trade right before Opening Day and has made the most of his opportunities behind the plate. Trevino is hitting .270 (34-for-126) and already has a career high six homer. His 23 RBI are also just seven shy of his career-best of 30 so Trevino is enjoying a breakout campaign here in his first season in pinstripes, fifth season overall. Trevino is worth a roster spot in 2-catcher leagues and is a value play in DFS leagues.
