Carlos Carrasco lit up by Astros again on Tuesday

by Dan Harris | Mets Correspondent | Tue, Jun 28th 10:42pm EDT

Carlos Carrasco allowed six runs on six hits and three walks over 4 1/3 innings on Tuesday against the Astros. He struck out four and took the loss, falling to 8-4.

Fantasy Impact:

Carrasco had similarly been hit hard in his last outing, which also came against the Astros, and he was a bit questionable for this start after dealing with back soreness. It's fair to wonder if it was still bothering him here, as he generated just seven whiffs, though his velocity and spin rates were actually up from his season-averages and he allowed only four hard-hit balls all night. The last two starts have destroyed Carrasco's numbers, and he now has a 4.85 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. But he'll get a bit of a breather in his next start against the Reds, so absent news that his back is still bothering him, he's worth a start there.
