A.J. Minter secures save on Tuesday

A.J. Minter pitched the ninth inning, striking out one during Atlanta's win over Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact:

With Kenley Jansen going on the 15-day injured list with an irregular heartbeat, Minter was called upon in the ninth inning to fill in as closer. He was able to close the door on the Phillies, securing his first save of the season. There were some assumptions that Will Smith would take over as closer, as he pitched in that role last season but Minter has the superior peripheral stats so far this season. Although the closer role may be a committee in Atlanta, it looks like Minter is the favourite to take the mound in the ninth until Jansen returns. He has a 4-0 record with a 1.64 ERA and 0.79 WHIP over 33 innings.
