Mike Clevinger tosses best game of season in win Wednesday

by Kendall Capps | White Sox Correspondent | Thu, Jun 30th 12:29am EDT

Padres starter Mike Clevinger tossed six shutout innings Wednesay, as San Diego beat the DBacks 4-0. He allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out six.

Fantasy Impact:

Now this was the Clevinger the Padres were hoping they got when they traded for him in 2020. Injuries derailed his season last year and he began this year on the IL. The Padres have brought the 31-year-old along slowly. He did not make his season debut until early May and with each start, has looked stronger and stronger. Clevinger now boasts a 2-0 record with a 2.79 ERA and 31 K's in 29 innings pitched.
