Zack Greinke throws six solid innings, picks up 2nd victory Wednesday

Zack Greinke pitched six innings, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out three in Kansas City’s 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Wednesday.

Greinke improved to 2-4 on the season and lowered his ERA and WHIP to 4.38 and 1.23 respectively. Greinke is now 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 0.67 WHIP across 12 innings in his two starts since returning from the 15-day IL. Greinke had had a solid start to his first season back in Kansas City before a flexor strain derailed his May. The 38-year-old will look his third win in a row and career victory #222 in his next start on Tuesday against his former team, the Houston Astros.
