Ian Anderson shelled in loss on Thursday

by Devon Bruce | Braves Correspondent | Thu, Jun 30th 9:59pm EDT

Ian Anderson pitched two innings, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out one during Atlanta's loss to Philadelphia on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:

Anderson was rocked early in this game, giving up a season high seven earned runs before being mercifully pulled after two innings. He was only able to produce six whiffs and ended the game with a lone strikeout. His velocity seems to be intact but he hasn't been able to pitch deep into games this season, with his longest game being 6 2/3 innings on June 19. On the whole he has a 6-5 record with a disappointing 5.31 ERA and 1.52 WHIP with 66 strikeouts over 15 starts. His next matchup is against the Cardinals on Tuesday. He can be safely dropped in most shallow leagues and should be benched for now in deep leagues.
