Craig Kimbrel picks up save in Dodgers win Thursday night

by Josh Thiessen | Dodgers Correspondent | Fri, Jul 1st 11:05am EDT

Craig Kimbrel pitched the ninth inning on Thursday, striking out two en rout to picking up the save in the Dodgers' 3-1 win over the Padres.

Fantasy Impact:

Kimbrel was dominant in relief Thursday as he picked up his 14th save of the season and did it in a 1-2-3 inning on 14 pitches. The Dodgers closer is slowly lowering his ERA as it now sits at 3.96 on the season, his WHIP is rather high unfortunately though as it sits at 1.48. The 34 year old is one of the best closers in baseball despite the fact he is coming near to the end of his prime, regardless he should be left in lineups as someone who can easily pick up a save on a nightly basis.
