Cristian Javier strikes out career high 14 in win over Angels

by Kendall Capps | Astros Correspondent | Sat, Jul 2nd 2:56am EDT

Astros starter Cristian Javier was utterly dominant once again Friday. He tossed seven innings of one-run ball, allowing just one hit and striking out a career-high 14 batters.

Fantasy Impact:

In his previous start, Javier set a career high with 13 K's. He bested that Friday, completely mystifying the Angels. The one hit he allowed was a solo home run to Shohei Ohtani in the 1st inning. He then retired the next 19 batters in a row before departing. At this point, Javier might be the best value pick-up in all of fantasy baseball. He will take his 6-3 record with a 2.58 ERA and 0.93 WHIP into his next start against the Royals. Good luck Kansas City.
