Taylor Rogers allows a run but earns save vs. Dodgers

by Kendall Capps | Giants Correspondent | Mon, Jul 4th 1:51am EDT

Padres closer Taylor Rogers entered with a 4-1 lead in the 9th inning and promptly allowed a couple hits and a run before closing the door on Los Angeles. He finished with an inning pitched, one run allowed on two hits and a strikeout.

Fantasy Impact:

It was Rogers' 23rd save of the year, ranking among the league leaders. Despite his tough month of June, Rogers is still clearly one of the better closers in all of baseball. The Padres are good enough to win a lot of games, but not dominant enough to consistently blow anyone out. That should provide plenty more save opportunities for Rogers as the season progresses.
