Braxton Garrett

Braxton Garrett brilliant during July 4 start in D.C.

by Nate Miller | Marlins Correspondent | Mon, Jul 4th 3:10pm EDT

Braxton Garrett worked 7 1/3 innings in Monday's 3-2 win over the Nationals, giving up only one run on for hits and a walk while striking out four.

Fantasy Impact:

In one of the best performances of his young career, Garrett needed just 83 pitches (57 strikes) to get through seven-plus frames at the nation's capital on July 4. The young lefty is now carrying a 4.25 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 20.0-percent strikeout rate through six turns in the Marlins rotation. He will have a tougher assignment Saturday against the Mets.
