Jameson Taillon loses to former team in Pittsburgh Tuesday

by Luke Monaldo | Cubs Correspondent | Wed, Jul 6th 8:43am EDT

Jameson Taillon pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on six hits and no walks while striking out five in New York’s 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Taillon falls to 9-2 with Tuesday’s loss and his ERA sits at 3.63, the highest it has been since April 16. After going 5-1 with a 2.49 ERA through his first nine starts of the year, Taillon has struggled, outside of the win column, since the beginning of June. Despite going 4-1 in his last seven starts, he has allowed 22 runs across 38 2/3 innings for a 5.12 ERA. New York’s potent offense should continue to help pick him up but Taillon needs to get things figured out on the mound himself. Taillon will try to get back on track and look for his 10th win of the season in his next start on Sunday in Boston.
