A.J. Minter locks down save on Saturday

by Devon Bruce | Braves Correspondent | Sat, Jul 9th 8:33pm EDT

A.J. Minter pitched the ninth inning, allowing two hits and striking out one while securing his third save during Atlanta's win over Washington on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Minter allowed a couple of batters to get on base but ultimately shut down the Nationals securing his second straight save. The Braves look to be truly platooning Minter and Will Smith, as the former has the last two saves after the latter secured two earlier in the month. Kenley Jansen is expected to return as soon as he's available on July 12, so both will be relegated back to late-inning work but could still be plenty valuable in deep leagues. Minter has a 4-2 record with an excellent 1.70 ERA and 0.89 WHIP over 40 appearances.
