Jonathan Heasley serves up six runs in loss Saturday

by Luke Monaldo | Orioles Correspondent | Sat, Jul 9th 9:11pm EDT

Jonathan Heasley pitched 1 1/3 inning, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out two in Kansas City’s 13-1 loss to the Guardians on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Heasley falls to 1-5 on the season following the shortest start of his career. Heasley was coming off a great quality start against a talented Astros squad and had lowered his ERA to 4.76 only to balloon it back up nearly 3/4 of a run to 5.50 thanks to Saturday’s debacle. Heasley only has one win in 11 starts and has seen his monthly ERA continue to rise; 4.66 in May, 5.61 in June and 7.36 so far in July. Heasley will try to end the first half of the season on a better note in his next start, and last before the All-Star Break, on Thursday in Toronto against the Blue Jays.
