Jose Berrios solid in quality start on Sunday

by Devon Bruce | Blue Jays Correspondent | Sun, Jul 17th 3:29pm EDT

Jose Berrios pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out seven during Toronto's win over Kansas City on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Berrios continues to round into form, allowing three or fewer runs in his last four starts and has only allowed four walks over that stretch. He produced 11 swinging strikes, seven strikeouts and a solid 28 percent CSW on 88 pitches on Sunday. Berrios was one of the worst starters in the league in May and June but has turned it on in July and could be a valuable asset on fantasy teams in the second half. On the season he is 7-4 with an improving 5.22 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 93 strikeouts over 101 2/3 innings pitched. He's next scheduled to start on July 27 against the Cardinals.
