Jonathan Heasley shelled for six runs in loss Saturday

by Luke Monaldo | Orioles Correspondent | Sun, Jul 31st 8:24am EDT

Jonathan Heasley pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out one in Kansas City’s 8-2 loss to New York on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Heasley falls to 1-6 on the season and his ERA rises to 5.82 while he hadn’t won a start since June 10. Heasley finishes July 0-2 with an 8.44 ERA and 1.78 WHIP, having given up 14 runs (10 earned) in just 10 2/3 innings across three starts. His July numbers raised Heasley’s ERA more than a full run from 4.76 to 5.82. It is hard to make an argument for Heasley being worth a roster spot right now let alone be startable. Heasley will look for his elusive second victory in his next start on Thursday at home against the Red Sox.
