Jameson Taillon walks season-high four in no decision

by Luke Monaldo | Cubs Correspondent | Wed, Aug 3rd 8:28am EDT

Jameson Taillon pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on two hits and four walks while striking out six in New York’s 8-6 loss to the Mariners on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Walks uncharacteristically killed Taillon Tuesday as all four of his free passes came around to score. Taillon only has 21 walks in 21 starts this season and had only walked as many as three batters once before Tuesday. It was a bad start to August after Taillon was coming off a shaky couple of months and is 4-1 with a 5.36 ERA in his previous 10 starts dating back to June 7. This start raises his ERA since June 7 to 5.73 and his season ERA has risen from 2.30 to 3.96 in that span. Taillon will look to bounce back in his next start on Monday when he’s another go at the Mariners in Seattle.
