David Bednar has been placed on the 15-day Injured List as announced by the Pirates on Wednesday. (Pittsburgh Pirates on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Bednar owns 17 saves and a 2.70 ERA as August begins but has not pitched since Friday's game versus Philadelphia. He heads to the IL with lower back soreness, with Wil Crowe picking up the save in Tuesday's win over Milwaukee. A combination of Crowe and Yerry De Los Santos will likely take on the high leverage situations for Pittsburgh during Bednar's absence.
