Jonathon Niese has a solid outing

by James McGowan | Wed, Jun 17th 10:56pm EDT

On Wednesday, the New York Mets lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 8-0. Despite the loss Jon Niese had a very solid start, he went seven innings, allowing three runs, while walking four, and striking out six.

Fantasy Impact:

Niese has had a very rough season, he has been hot and cold and has been left out to dry on multiple occasions by the Mets defense. This season Niese is 3-7, with a 5.03 ERA in 59 innings, with 44 strikeouts. His season hasn't gone the way that he wanted, in his last ten games Niese is 1-7 with two no decisions. While he is still a good pitcher, he has looked uncomfortable on the mound and is being hit around with ease. It is probably time to look for a replacement for Niese, while he has looked pretty good he has terrible numbers. Pitchers like Noah Syndergaard, or Eduardo Rodriguez should be seriously considered, and would both be upgrades from Niese. It'll be interesting to see how Niese will respond to his latest loss.
