Chris Bassitt tosses seven shutout innings in win over Nationals
by Dan Harris | Blue Jays Correspondent | Wed, Aug 3rd 10:35pm EDT
Chris Bassitt allowed six hits and a walk over seven shutout innings on Wednesday against the Nationals. He struck out four and earned the win, moving to 8-7.
Fantasy Impact:
Bassitt was staked to a big lead so didn't need to do much against a weak lineup, and traded in some whiffs for some weak contact. He allowed just a 79.3 MPH average exit velocity on the day and two hard-hit balls. Bassitt isn't a star but he now has a 3.61 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP, and can be started every time out, including in his next outing against the Reds.
