Kyle Gibson shuts down Nationals on Friday

Kyle Gibson allowed one run on two hits and a walk over eight innings on Friday against the Nationals. He struck out four and earned the win, moving to 7-4.
Fantasy Impact:
The Nationals have one of the weakest lineups in baseball after dealing away Juan Soto and Josh Bell, so take this outing for Gibson with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, they all count the same, and Gibson lowered his ERA and WHIP to 4.36 and 1.17, respectively. There was nothing special for Gibson in this start - he generated just 10 whiffs, had a 27% CSW rate, and allowed an 87.1 MPH average exit velocity. All of those numbers are adequate, but not eye-popping, and that's essentially what you'll get with Gibson in a positive matchup. But with another soft outing against the Marlins on tap, he's worth keeping in your lineup, particularly in deeper leagues.
