David Peterson earns win on Saturday against Braves

by Dan Harris | Mets Correspondent | Sat, Aug 6th 6:11pm EDT

David Peterson pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Braves, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out five. He earned the win, moving to 6-2.

Fantasy Impact:

Peterson was recalled from Triple-A before the start and worked out of a bases loaded jam in the first inning before settling down. For now, this appears to be just a spot start, as Jacob deGrom's arrival removes the need for a sixth starter. But with Taijuan Walker getting hit hard on Friday, it's possible that he has been dealing with an injury, so monitor the news in case Peterson sneaks back into the rotation. If he does, he's a must-start option.
