Rays starter Shane McClanahan allowed four runs, six hits, and zero walks over 6 1/3 innings of work against the Tigers on Saturday evening. He struck out three batters and was charged with the loss. Tampa Bay ultimately fell to Detroit by a score of 9-1.
This is the first time in McClanahan's MLB career that he has lost back-to-back games. He went 10-3 with a 1.71 ERA, 11.95 K/9, and 1.55 BB/9 prior to the All-Star Break. Through three starts since then, he's 0-2 with a 5.60 ERA. McClanahan should still be rostered and started in all leagues, but fantasy managers can no longer consider him a lock for points upon points upon points whenever he pitches.
