Drew Rasmussen throws three no-hit innings Sunday

by Andersen Pickard | Rays Correspondent | Sun, Aug 7th 11:02pm EDT

Rays starter Drew Rasmussen tossed three hitless innings against the Tigers on Sunday afternoon. He retired the first eight Detroit batters in order before the ninth reached on an error. However, the Rays caught that runner stealing, meaning that Rasmussen still technically went nine up, nine down. He logged the no-decision as Tampa Bay ultimately defeated Detroit by a score of 7-0, scoring all of its runs in the final inning.

Fantasy Impact:

Rasmussen is 6-4 with a 2.96 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and .238 OBA through 19 starts (91 1/3 innings) this season. He has also amassed 7.39 K/9 and 2.46 BB/9. The right-hander is the No. 2 option in Tampa's rotation and should be rostered in most leagues going forward.
