Chris Bassitt allowed one unearned run on eight hits and a walk over eight innings on Monday against the Reds. He struck out eight and earned the win, moving to 9-7.
Bassitt allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings to the Padres on June 3. Since then, he has thrown at least six innings in each of his nine starts and has a 2.19 ERA. Bassitt was excellent in the soft matchup against the Reds, clocking in with a 33% CSW rate, but the bottom line is that he's consistent enough that he's worth starting every time out. He's now down to a 3.39 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP, and will take on the Phillies next.
