Kyle Higashioka homers, drives in two runs in loss Wednesday vs Mariners

Kyle Higashioka went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in New York’s 4-3 loss in Seattle on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Higashioka broke up reigning Cy Young winner Robbie Ray’s shutout bid and gave the Yankees a 2-1 lead with a two-run home run in the 7th inning. It was Higashioka’s seventh home run of the season and second in his last three games. Higgy has only played in three games so far in August as he has ceded work behind the plate to Jose Trevino. However, he is 4-for-10 (.400) with two home runs and four RBI in those three games. Higashioka is slugging .201/.250/.370 with seven homers, 20 RBI, and 20 runs scored in154 at-bats this weekend. While his lack of consistent starts makes him less than ideal in season-long formats, his recent production when he plays makes him an interesting low-cost value play in DFS formats, especially GPPs.
