by Luke Monaldo | Royals Correspondent | Thu, Aug 11th 10:58pm EDT

Zack Greinke pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing no runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out five in Kansas City’s 5-3 win against the White Sox on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:

Greinke pitched out of three different jams Thursday, including one with the bases loaded, to scatter nine hits over 6 1/3 scoreless innings. Greinke was partly able to escape his self-induced trouble by not walking anyone on Thursday. Greinke earned his first win since July 10 against Cleveland. The veteran improves to 4-7 with a 4.29 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 57 strikeouts in 98 2/3 across 19 starts. Greinke will go for his 224th career victory in his next start on Tuesday in Minnesota.
