Wander Franco is set to take batting practice on the field soon. This is a positive step in the right direction since he was not cleared to grip anything when he resumed baseball activities on July 27th. (MLB.com)
Franco has been out of action with a fractured right hamate bone since July 10th. The 21-year-old was slashing .260/.308/.396 with five home runs, 23 RBIs, and five stolen bases in 58 games prior to the injury. His expected return timeline is still late August or early September.
