Chris Bassitt tosses five scoreless innings in win over Phillies on Sunday

by Dan Harris | Blue Jays Correspondent | Sun, Aug 14th 6:31pm EDT

Chris Bassitt allowed four hits and two walks over five scoreless innings on Sunday against the Phillies. He struck out five and earned the win, moving to 10-7.

Fantasy Impact:

Bassitt was excellent on Sunday, but the Phillies made him work, fouling off 21 pitches on the day and driving up his pitch count to 97 over just five innings. This was the third straight outing for Bassitt in which he allowed zero earned runs, and although they were in three soft matchups, it's an impressive feat for the veteran. He is now down to a 3.27 ERA and 1.13 WHIP, and is a must-start option. He will take on the Phillies again next.
