Braxton Garrett held the Braves scoreless over six innings Sunday, giving up five hits and three walks while striking out two.
Garrett more than deserved a win for Sunday's excellent effort versus a tough Braves offense, but the Marlins pen blew the game late. Garrett seems to be in the process of becoming a legitimate big-league hurler. Over eight starts since the beginning of July, the young lefty has posted a 2.91 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 49-to-11 K/BB ratio across 46 1/3 innings. He is set to return to the mound next weekend against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
