Michael Wacha (shoulder) tosses seven shutout innings in return to majors

by Andersen Pickard | Royals Correspondent | Sun, Aug 14th 9:34pm EDT

Red Sox starter Michael Wacha (right shoulder inflammation) looked fantastic in his return from the injured list against the Yankees on Sunday evening. He tossed seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out nine batters. The veteran earned the win as Boston ultimately defeated New York by a score of 3-0.

Fantasy Impact:

Wacha improved to 7-1 with a 2.44 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and .205 OBA through 14 starts this season. He has also racked up 6.87 K/9 and 2.68 BB/9. Now that he's back in the Boston rotation, he should catch the attention of fantasy managers once again. He deserves to be rostered in most leagues going forward.
