Tyler Wells making progress in rehab from oblique injury

by Jesse Garcia | Orioles Correspondent | Mon, Aug 15th 12:39pm EDT

Tyler Wells played catch on August 13th for the first time since being diagnosed with a grade 1 left oblique strain. There is a discussion within the Orioles what Wells’ role will be once he is healthy enough to return. (MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Wells has arguably been the best starter out of the Orioles rotation this season. In 20 games (7-6) he has a 3.90 ERA, .232 OBA, and a 6.46 K/9 ratio in 94 2/3 innings pitched. The Orioles are planning on being cautious with Wells’ injury considering he has already tossed 37 2/3 more innings in 2022 than he did in 2021. Fantasy managers will want to face that Wells may not return this season.
