Gerrit Cole fans six Rays in loss Monday
by Luke Monaldo | Yankees Correspondent | Tue, Aug 16th 6:53am EDT
Gerrit Cole pitched six innings, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out six in New York’s 4-0 loss to the Rays on Monday night.
Fantasy Impact:
Cole has pitched 13 innings and allowed just one run over his last two starts and is 0-1 because his offense has provided zero runs of support. The Yankees’ ace hasn't won since July 17 against Boston. Since then, Cole is 0-3 with a 4.35 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 31 innings across five starts. Cole falls to 9-5 with a 3.30 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and 184 strikeouts in 144 1/3 across 24 starts. Cole will make his second start of the week, and take a sixth try at his 10th victory, on Saturday against Toronto.
