Jeffrey Springs lasts five innings in win over New York

by Andersen Pickard | Rays Correspondent | Tue, Aug 16th 11:25pm EDT

Rays starter Jeffrey Springs allowed one run, two hits, and one walk over five innings of work against the Yankees on Tuesday evening. He also struck out four batters and earned the win as Tampa Bay ultimately defeated New York by a score of 3-1.

Fantasy Impact:

Springs is now 5-3 with a 2.52 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and .226 OBA through 24 games (16 starts) this season. He also has an impressive 9.57 K/9 and 1.91 BB/9 to his name thus far. The southpaw continues to have waiver wire appeal, but his relatively low innings count could understandably deter some managers.
