Ross Stripling pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing a lone hit while striking out seven during Toronto's win over Baltimore on Wednesday.
Stripling was magnificent in his return to the mound, rendering the Orioles hitless over six frames before ultimately allowing a single to Cedric Mullins to lead off the seventh inning. He also didn't issue a free pass for the second straight game and the third time in his last four starts. He certainly didn't look like he was feeling any residual effects from the glute injury that sidelined him for a few weeks as he produced 13 swinging strikes, a season-high seven strikeouts and an excellent 35 percent CSW over 72 pitches. On the season he is 5-3 with an impressive 2.93 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 74 strikeouts over 88 innings. He'll next take the mound in a matchup against the Red Sox on Tuesday.
