J.D. Martinez draws three walks Wednesday

by Andersen Pickard | Mets Correspondent | Wed, Aug 17th 9:52pm EDT

Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez went 0-for-2 against the Pirates on Wednesday. However, he drew three walks and scored twice in the contest. Boston ultimately defeated Pittsburgh by a score of 8-3.

Fantasy Impact:

Martinez is just 4-for-21 (.190) over his last seven games, though he has drawn five walks over his last two contacts. The slugger also hasn’t homered since July 10, which is a surprise considering he homered 28 times last season and went yard on 124 occasions from 2017 to 2019. Evidently, his days as a true power hitter have come to an end.
