Astros SP Framber Valdez kept things going on Wednesday night, tossing seven strong innings. He allowed two runs on seven hits, striking out six in a 3-2 win.
Valdez was not his sharpest, having allowed the seven hits to go with three walks. However, he was able to dance around the trouble for the most part. In doing so, he earned his 20th consecutive quality start. That tied a franchise record set by Mike Scott in 1986. He'll look to break the record next time out against the Twins.
