Jake Odorizzi allows five runs in loss on Wednesday

by Devon Bruce | Thu, Aug 18th 8:01am EDT

Jake Odorizzi pitched five innings, allowing five earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two during Atlanta's loss to New York on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Odorizzi couldn't keep the ball in the park, allowing a season-high three home runs in the first two innings of play and allowing five runs overall. He hasn't been sharp since joining the Braves, giving up 22 hits and six walks over just 9 2/3 innings and shouldn't be started outside of deep leagues. On the season he is 4-4 with a weak 4.15 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 54 strikeouts over 65 innings pitched. He's next scheduled to start in a matchup against the Pirates on Monday.
