Alex Wood picked up the loss after allowing four runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five in 4 2/3 innings of Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Padres.
Fantasy Impact:
Wood's rough month of August wrapped up on Wednesday as he was hit with his third loss in a row. This veteran will wrap up this month with an 8.40 ERA in six starts, bringing his season-long ERA to 5.10. Despite flashing signs of fantasy production earlier in the season, he simply cannot be trusted in fantasy at the moment. The lefthander will have another tough matchup when he takes on the Dodgers on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
