Max Castillo pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five in Kansas City’s 3-2 win against the Tigers on Sunday.

Castillo was solid in his second start with Kansas City, making just one mistake on a two-run home run to Harold Castro in the 4th inning. Castillo has looked great since coming to Kansas City in the trade that sent Whit Merrifield to Toronto and holds a 2.79 ERA in two starts. Castillo remains at 0-1 with a 2.97 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 28 strikeouts in 30 1/3 innings across 11 appearances ( 4 starts) between Toronto and Kansas City this season. If Castillo remains in the rotation, he will try for his first Major League win in his next start on Saturday against these same Tigers in Kansas City.
