Framber Valdez tosses shutout in win Monday

by Kendall Capps | Astros Correspondent | Tue, Sep 13th 2:21am EDT

Astros SP Framber Valdez was utterly dominant on Monday in a 7-0 win over the Tigers. He tossed a complete game shutout, the first of his career, with eight strikeouts.

Fantasy Impact:

Valdez scattered six hits and a walk over the nine frames, lowering his ERA to 2.50 in his breakout season. Monday marked his 24th consecutive quality start, tying Jacob deGrom for the most consecutive quality starts in the same season in MLB history. DeGrom and Bob Gibson have the overall record at 26 spanning two seasons. Houston's lefty will attempt to get number 25 with another fantastic matchup at home against the Athletics this weekend.
