Gerrit Cole pitched six innings, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out 10 in New York’s 7-6 extra-inning win in Boston on Tuesday.

Cole was in line for the loss before Aaron Judge’s 8th inning home run got him off the hook. Cole struck out 10-plus batters for the third time in four starts and ninth time overall this season and his 228 strikeouts lead the Majors. Cole remains at 11-7 with a 3.30 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and 228 strikeouts in 177 1/3 innings across 29 starts this season.
